Scheveningen (NED) will host the 3rd edition of the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Europe) – (Cancelled)
UPDATE (22 April, 2020) – In alignment with the KNKV, the IKF had decided to cancel the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Europe 2020), which was planned for 7-8 August 2020 in The Hague, The Netherlands.
The Dutch government has announced that the ban on (sport)events in The Netherlands has been extended to 1 September 2020, which automatically means that no event can take place in August. The IKF will not look for another date in 2020 for this event.
Although this announcement probably doesn’t come as a surprise to you following the earlier cancelation of IKF events, it is still a sad moment. However, the IKF would like to thank the Royal Dutch Korfball Federation (KNKV) for their preparational work
UPDATE (23 March, 2020) – Due to the coronavirus, the subscription deadline for the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Europe) 2020 has been extended until 30 April 2020.
The final decision on this event will be made in the months to come and will very much depend on the development of the corona virus. More detailed info has been sent to all national federations via email. More info ► www.korfball.sport/?p=23567
Following the first two successful editions of the IKF Beach Korfball World Cup (Europe) in Belgium and France, the third edition of this new event will be hosted by the KNKV in Scheveningen, the Netherlands. The KNKV organized the IKF Open European Beach Korfball Championship in 2017. This event has been awarded the IKF World Korfball Award for Best Event, granted during the IKF General Meeting in 2019.
Therefore, the IKF is very confident that this edition of the BKWC will be a big success as well. For the Dutch team, the location will be an extra motivation to finally claim the trophy, after seeing Belgium (2018) and Portugal (2019) taking the win in previous years.
